A week after his conviction for reckless wounding against his girlfiend was quashed by a Sydney court, Greg Bird looks set to join the Gold Coast Titans.

The Catalans player has reportedly been give a week by the Titans to accept a one-year deal for the 2010 season.

Should Bird opt to join the club, the deal could be a pre-cursor to a longer-term extension worth millions of dollars.

The race to sign Bird looks all but over, after North Queensland removed themselves and Brisbane opted not to make a move.

However Catalans are apparently ready to offer Bird a 2-year agreement, worth in the region of £275,000.
