Wakefield have confirmed that Bill Tupou has signed for them until the end of the current campaign.

The 25-year-old, who can play across the back line, joins Trinity from Canberra Raiders.

He made his NRL debut for New Zealand Warriors in 2010, and was selected for the Kiwi squad in 2011.

He has subsequently played for Tonga at Test level, too, against Papua New Guinea last year.

“I am extremely excited about the opportunity I have here at Wakefield Trinity,” he said.

“I want to help the club remain in Super League and will give my everything to try and make that happen’.

Wakefield chairman Michael Carter is very pleased to have signed a player with such pedigree for the club.

“I am delighted to welcome Bill to the club he will provide a much needed competition in the centre position,” he said.

“I am looking forward to seeing him in red, white and blue.”
