Bevan French hails team-mate Liam’s Farrell’s preparation as the ‘best ever’

Wigan star Bevan French says team-mate Liam Farrell has the best pre-match preparation he has ever seen.

Farrell has spent a decade at the Warriors, scoring 96 times in 249 appearances for the cherry and whites. He also made 10 appearances for England between 2013-16.

Despite having only been at the Warriors for less than 12 months, former NRL flyer French admits he was impressed with Farrell’s pre-match attitude.

Speaking ahead of Farrell’s testimonial match against Leeds on January 19, the 24-year-old said: “He is a leader, but not [just] in terms of speaking. He leads by example with his actions.

“10 years in professional rugby is a long time and it takes a toll on your body. His preparation is probably the best that I’ve seen from any rugby player that I’ve been with.

“Every morning, he’s the first in the gym for his rehab. Preparation is key and that’s why he’s spent 10 years at the top of his game.”
