Wigan speedster Bevan French is favourite to finish the regular Super League season as the competition’s top try-scorer.

French, 26, finished last season with a total of 31 tries, the most in the campaign. It was five more than next-best Ken Sio with 26.

Despite strong rumours linking French with a move back to the NRL, the utility back re-signed to a new two-year deal for seasons 2023 and 2024 with the Warriors.

Skybet are offering odds at 10/1 for the Wigan man to finish as top try-scorer, while Betfred are offering odds at 8/1.

Leeds’ Ash Handley has been tipped as second favourite, having scored 17 tries last year – eighth most in the season. St Helens’ Tommy Makinson has the same odds, having scored 22 tries last campaign.

Despite Sio finishing second last season, his odds are priced at 20/1.

Wigan full-back Jai Field has odds of 20/1, while team-mate Liam Marshall has odds at 14/1.

Having earned his first starting shirt following the departure of Regan Grace with number five, Jon Bennison is also in the top 10 odds to finish the season as the top try-scorer.

Catalans’ Fouad Yaha and Castleford’s Greg Eden are also listed in the top 10, alongside Warrington full-back Matt Dufty.
