Kirklees College are delighted to announce Batley Bulldogs’ star half-back Ben Black as the Head Coach of their brand new LoveRugbyLeague.com sponsored Rugby League academy for 2012/13.

Black, a Championship winner during his time at Halifax, will begin working with the squad at the start of September before the start of the Student Rugby League season.

Adrian Tallon, Sports Tutor at Kirklees College said: “We are delighted to have Ben on board for the coming year. His playing experience in the NRL in Australia and the Championship in the UK will be great for our players to learn from as we embark on this new Rugby League programme at the College. Ben is a top player and we’re really looking forward to seeing him working with our players.”

Ben said, “I’m really excited about getting onto the training pitch and working with the guys on regular basis. It’s a really good set-up and is a great way for these young players to improve as players and go to College at the same time.”

It is not too late for rugby league players interested in the academy to apply to join this academic year as Kirklees College still have places available. Anybody looking for further information should contact 01484 437053 or email sportsacademy@kirkleescollege.ac.uk as soon as possible so their applications can be put through before the start of term.
