Batley Bulldogs half-back Ben Black has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until the end of 2013.

Black, 30, arrived from Halifax at the end of last season, and the Bulldogs have retained his services despite confirming there had been strong interest in the 30-year old.

Batley chief executive Paul Harrison said: “The signing of Ben was an integral piece of the jigsaw and we are absolutely delighted that he has decided to stay on at the Mount next year and his commitment to what we are trying to build at Mount Pleasant is particularly pleasing.”

Black previously played for Wests Tigers before moving to Halifax.
