Wakefield’s Belle Vue home will be known as “The Mobile Rocket Stadium” in 2018 following a sponsorship raffle.

Belle Vue, along with Headingley (Leeds), Mount Pleasant (Batley) and Halton Stadium (Widnes) is one of only four sites where rugby league has been played since it was founded in 1895.

Mobile Rocket were selected in a random draw of 23 businesses by Trinity head coach Chris Chester.

John Brady, Director at Mobile Rocket, said: “It is absolutely fantastic to win and I am so proud, especially with Wakefield Trinity coming off the back of such a great season in 2017.

“The draw was a great idea from the Commercial Team at Wakefield and we were happy to be involved.

“It’s great that we can support Wakefield Trinity for what could be their final year at the stadium!”

In recent years, it has carried several different names, and was last season known as the Beaumont Legal Stadium and also hosted Sheffield Eagles home games.

Prior to that, it was the Rapid Solicitors Stadium for four years, the Hearwell Stadium and the Atlantic Solutions Stadium.
