Bell heads for Perpignan

Les Catalans have snapped up Manly centre Steve Bell for the 2009 and 2010 Super League seasons.nnBell, 32, is a former State of Origin regular with Queensland, and has been signed to replace fellow Aussie John Wilson.nnWilson is heading back Down Under at the end of the season, after playing for the club since their entry into Super League in 2006.nnBell began his professional career with Melbourne Storm back in 2001, before joining Manly.nnBell has 87 tries to his name in 158 NRL appearances, and will provide great experience in the backs for the French outfit.nn”Steve is a previous State of Origin player and he is a fantastic acquisition for the club,” said Catalans general manager Christophe Levy.nn”His signing will give stability to the outside backs,” he added.nnBell’s ambition to play in Super League, and was sure he’s made the right decision to join the Perpignan club. “I have always wanted to play Super League and I could think of no better club to do it at than Catalans,” said Bell.
