Beattie impressed by Bradford grit

Bradford interim head coach Leigh Beattie was impressed by his team’s performance on Sunday and feels “there is a lot to look forward to, but it’ll take a lot of hard work”.

After watching his side fall to defeat to former Super League side Hull Kingstone Rovers, Beattie believes that there was plenty of positives to take out of the season opener.

“They are a young side; they showed the passion that they have out there, you couldn’t fault their effort,” he said.

“They are a good side Hull KR. They beat us around a bit in the first half so we tried to fix that at half time and we had a lot of positives in the second half.

“You could see we were a little bit off the pace out there and they looked a little bit more slick than us but with that effort on the field and bit more effort in the training ground, I don’t think that we’ll be that far off shortly.”

Beattie stated his plans to continue to revive the team to glory in his post-match press conference:

“Straight back to the training field, there is plenty to work to be done. We’ll do some video and asses what happened.

“There will be some tired players after this game, but we’ll fix them up tomorrow and go from there.”
