Beattie aiming to shock the leaders

Bradford interim coach Leigh Beattie believes the Bulls can spring a surprise at the Summer Bash in Blackpool this weekend.

The Bulls head into Saturday’s game against Championship leaders Hull KR on the back of a five-game losing run, but Beattie says his team are ready for the test.

“It will be a challenge but we are certainly going to have a great dig at them,” Beattie told the club’s official website.

“We have had some disappointing results lately and we are all hurting, but this week the enthusiasm has really been there in the team.

“They have all been bouncing and doing well – we feel we can deliver a bit and have a fair go at them.

“Hull KR are obviously the strongest team in the competition right now, but that does not make them unbeatable.

“We have been studying them and we know where they have lapses in play at times, we need to try and utilise that to our benefit.

“Our main aim is stop leaking points – we have to. We need to defend much better and be stronger around the ruck, so we have tried to fix that up so hopefully we just move on.”
