Batley to help Bradford raise funds

Batley are to offer discounted entry to Super League season ticket holders for their match against Doncaster on Sunday and donate half the proceeds to the BullBuilder Trust.

The initiative is the brainchild of Mick Hopkin and BullBuilder Trust board member Mike Farron, who also aim to increase awareness of Championship rugby league to fans of Super League clubs at the same time.

With Bradford away at Hull on Friday, and Leeds taking on Huddersfield on the same night, Sunday’s game at the LoveRugbyLeague.com Stadium presents the perfect opportunity for fans to get to a second game over the weekend.

Hopkin said: “My aim is to dispel some of the myths held by some Super League supporters, regarding the Championship being a second rate competition and the clubs within it being a little unfashionable and help the Bulls raise some much needed revenue at the same time.

“Over recent years at Batley, we have had several young talented players make the breakthrough in to Super League and I want to give Super League fans the chance to see The Stars Of Tomorrow Today!

Alex Walmsley, Greg Johnson, Jason Walton, Jermaine McGilvary, Dan Fleming, Kyle Wood and Aaron Murphy to name just a few, have all come through the ranks at Batley before hitting the “big time” in Super League over the last few seasons.

“So the quality of entertainment is unquestionably there for all to see, and I am absolutely certain that once families see it first hand they will be hooked.

“I realise, one of the biggest hurdles when it comes to entertaining a family in these austere times is cost. Families want to be certain when they are laying out (in some cases quite substantial sums of money) to entertain their family, that their choice will provide good value and a great experience for all.

“So I want to give them the opportunity for very little outlay and help one of the biggest names in the game at the same time.”

Adult tickets are priced at £10, including a £5 donation, with a family ticket which admits two adults and up to four children priced at £20.

To take advantage of the deal, season ticket holders at any Super League club, just need to print off and present one of the relevant vouchers shown below and a valid season ticket for any Super League club and pay the amount shown at the turnstile.

The game kicks off at 2pm on Sunday March 9.
