Bateman handed three game ban

Bradford’s John Bateman has been handed a three match suspension.

He was found guilty of dangerous contact on Warrington’s Brett Hodgson in the 36th minute of his side’s Challenge Cup game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Bateman used the ‘crusher tackle’ which applied undue pressure to a ball carrier’s neck and spine. Referee James Child placed the incident on report, and the RFL Disciplinary Committee found him guilty of the Grade D offence.
