Hunslet coach Barry Eaton has signed a 12 month contract extension to keep him at the South Leeds Stadium until November 2014.

Eaton, who was previously assistant coach at Crusaders in Super League, joined the Hawks ahead of the 2012 season, and led them to two league wins, ensuring they finished 9th in the Championship table.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “We’re thrilled to be-able to agree this re-negotiation with Barry at this early stage, this will enable him to continue the excellent community work he has embarked on for a further two years along with giving the club some continuity as we look to establish ourselves as a real force in the Championship.”

The former Wales international played in Super League for Widnes during his playing career, before ending his career at Keighley as player-coach, leading the Cougars to promotion in 2009.
