Barrow sign Liam Paisley from Wigan

Barrow have signed Wigan back-rower Liam Paisley on a deal until the end of the season.

Paisley, 21, has been playing on dual-registration with Swinton, with the Warriors seemingly reluctant to let him go out on a month’s loan – but they have now agreed for his release and he has linked up with the Raiders.

A local product, hailing from Dalton, Paisley has made 11 appearances for Swinton this season, including scoring a hat-trick in the Lions’ win at Toulouse last weekend.

He has played nine times for Wigan, including four this season.

A club statement said: “Barrow have stepped up their interest in recent weeks and have finally persuaded Wigan to release Liam and for an official transfer to take place.

“All at the club wish Liam well as competition for places hots up and we hope he enjoys his stay with us to such an extent that both parties  look to extend the deal until next season and beyond.”

Paisley is likely to miss this weekend’s trip to Featherstone due to an ankle injury, but should be available for the 1895 Cup quarter-final against Leigh on Wednesday.
