Barrow land Wigan pair

Wigan pair Ben Davies and Jack Hughes have joined Championship side Barrow on loan and dual-registration deals.

Prop Davies, 21, made a considerable impact during a dual-deal at Widnes last season and has signed a four week loan deal with the Cumbrian club, while second rower Hughes has signed a dual-registration deal, enabling him to play for the Raiders when not selected by the Warriors.

Wigan Rugby Manager, Kris Radlinski said: “We have found that the loan and dual registration contracts work perfectly for us. We liaise closely with the chosen Clubs to make sure that the player is getting what we require out of the move.

Liam Farrell, Chris Tuson, Josh Charnley and Stefan Marsh all went to various Clubs last year and they are now pushing for first team places with Wigan every week. They are playing a higher level of Rugby than the Under 20’s competition which prepares them for the next step into the first team.

“We must thank Des Johnston and his Barrow Club for accepting our players and we hope that we can build on this relationship.”
