Barrow have announced the re-signings of forwards Danny Morrow and Bradd Crellin for their 2022 season back in the Championship.

Paul Crarey’s side lifted the League Leaders’ Shield following their victory over West Wales Raiders at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium to win promotion back to the Championship for 2022.

Captain Jarrad Stack also recently signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Danny Morrow on signing extension

“I’m absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to play another season for the Raiders,” said Morrow.

“Barrow has been my club for the past six years. It’s my hometown and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I’ve played with the majority of the lads all my career and we’ve become a very tight-knit unit.

“Steve Neale, the board and everyone else involved with the club have gone above what anyone could have expected from a League 1 club in such difficult times for the sport as a whole.

“They continue to grow and it’s exciting to think what next season will bring with the club’s vision and appetite.

“I’m eager to get stuck in with the lads again now. I’m rested up and ready to get back to peak fitness.

“I think our aim for this season is to finish in the top half of the table. I think with the quality of players we have and under the direction of Paul, Steve, Carl and Paddy, we can finish at the top.

“That’s my ambition as a player and I’m sure the club will strive to agree.”

Bradd Crellin on new deal

“I’m really happy to have signed for another 12-months,” Crellin said. “I’m looking forward to taking on the challenge of being back in the Championship.

“The club is heading in the right direction and it’s going to be a tough but exciting year.

“I think the Championship is going to be the best it’s been this year. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season.

“As for goals, the main aim is staying up. But I think with the squad the club have assembled so far we can be confident and aim for play-offs.

“The squad we had last year have a real bond and I think the lads coming in will fit right in.”

Head coach Crarey on new deals

On the new deals, head coach Crarey added: “Danny played some of the best rugby of his career last season with a number of man of the match performances.

“He thought about retirement but has decided to play on which we are obviously pleased about and he will contribute throughout the season.”

Crarey continued: “Bradd is a model professional with the ability to play in any number of positions.

“He was magnificent filling in as a half-back when Dally (Jamie Dallimore) was sent off in the Doncaster game.

“Bradd is a player who proves his worth year-on-year and it’s great to have him back.”
