Papua New Guinea international Stargroth Amean will not play for Barrow in 2020.

The 28-year-old winger became a fan’s favourite at the Raiders last season, scoring 11 tries in 25 games for the Cumbrian outfit.

Amean has cited family issues at his home in Papua New Guinea as the reason why he can’t return to Barrow this year.

In a statement released by Barrow, it read: “It is with regret and disappointment that Barrow Raiders have to announce that Stargroth Amean is unable to return to the UK due to family issues at home.”

Amean has earned seven caps for Papua New Guinea, scoring three tries.
