Barlow leaves Fax for Fev

Halifax forward Sam Barlow has joined Championship rivals Featherstone for the rest of the season.

Barlow, 25, will not be able to play in any games between the two sides, however.

Halifax coach Karl Harrison said: “Sam is a player who needs to be playing regular Rugby and long spells to maintain his fitness levels.

“With no significant injuries amongst Halifax’ forwards, I’m not able to offer him the first team opportunities he requires.

“The chance to join Featherstone for the remainder of the season was one which he did not wish to turn down, and in fairness to him, I felt it right to let him go.”

The prop has made 15 substitute appearances for Halifax this season, but hasn’t featured since the 31-24 win over Hunslet on June 9.
