Dale Ferguson will miss Scotland‘s World Cup quarter-final against New Zealand on Friday after being handed a two-match ban.

Ferguson, who will move to Bradford following the tournament, was cited for a dangerous throw in the win over USA last week.

The International Match Review Panel also handed out bans to USA‘s Haveatama Luani, Fiji‘s Korbin Sims and Tonga‘s Jorge Faufua.

Luani will miss the Tomahawks quarter-final with Australia following a dangerous throw in the final two minutes against Scotland, while Sims was given a two-match ban for his dangerous throw on James Graham in Fiji‘s defeat to England on Saturday.

Faufua landed a one-match ban for a Grade A dangerous throw in Tonga‘s 16-0 win over Italy on Sunday.

All four players have until 11am on Tuesday to lodge an appeal, and suspensions will carry over to their domestic competition if not served in the tournament.
