Bailey refreshed by Hull KR move

Hull KR prop Ryan Bailey believes that his close-season move to East Yorkshire from Leeds has given his career a new lease of life.

Rovers welcome Bailey’s old club to the KC Lightstream Stadium on Sunday afternoon, though the player himself remains an injury doubt for the game.

“I’m enjoying it and I think it will bring the best from me,” he told BBC Radio Humberside.

“I was at Leeds for a long time but I think I needed a change and I think I can become a leader here. I’m excited for the season.

“We’ve got a new team but we’ve become a tight-knit group already and I think we can surprise some teams.

“I’ll be pushing to be fit but I won’t go out there if I’m not 100% fit. There’s a chance.

“Leeds like to start quick and they’ll look to blow us away. The coach has been picking my brain a little bit and I have put my hand up to try and help as best as I can.”
