North Queensland Cowboys have signed Josh McGuire on a four-year contract from 2019.

The 28-year-old has made 194 appearances in the NRL after making his professional bow for Brisbane Broncos in 2009.

McGuire has earned eight caps for Australia and has played 11 games for Queensland at Origin level. He has also earned seven caps for Samoa.

Cowboys’ coach Paul Green commented: “I coached Josh as a junior at both the Queensland academy of sport and the Broncos academy and have followed his career closely.

“His development over the years has really impressed me and no reconnect and have the opportunity to work with him again is something I’m personally really looking forward to.

“I’m really excited about what Josh can bring to the Cowboys.”
