Atkins frustrated by Wolves’ season

Warrington centre Ryan Atkins has admitted that his club have endured a frustrating campaign in 2015.

The Wolves are all but out of the race for a top-four finish now, and face Wigan at home on Friday evening looking to recapture some pride.

“It has been a frustrating season with the inconsistency, and the way we’ve played in some matches,” Atkins said.

“They way we’ve played in some matches we’ve been phenomenol, and then we’ve really struggled in some others.

“It’s been one of those up-and-down, topsy turvy seasons.”

Atkins is well aware that the Wolves have to show some steel and give the fans something to cheer before now and the end of the season, with silverware out of the question.

“We know that we need to put in some great performances between now and the end of the season,” he said.

“And what better way is there than to test yourself against Wigan, who are a big, physical team, who like to be very dominant throughout the match.

“They’ve got some great players in the back field, they’ve got some great backs.

“So whatever team they have out, it’s going to be a strong team, so we need to be on our toes and on our best performance, or the score could blow out again.”
