Aspinwall to remain a Tiger

Castleford have today confirmed that incarcerated second rower Martin Aspinwall will remain in the first team squad after his four-month prison sentence.

Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: “While we as a club do not condone what Martin has done to find himself in this situation, his attitude and enthusiasm whilst with the Castleford Tigers has been first class.

“We’ll be giving Martin all of the support possible to ensure that he moves on from this in a positive manner when he completes his sentence.

“The best way we see for him to do this is by applying himself to playing and training in a full time environment.”
