Off-contract Wakefield forward Tinirau Arona wants to stay in Super League next year – with the Wildcats or another club.

Arona is a free agent at the end of 2016 after signing a one-year deal from Cronulla.

The Kiwi-born 26-year old said he is enjoying his time in the UK and at Wakefield, and is keen to extend it.

“My agent Isaac Moses is handling it, I’m just leaving that to him,” he told Love Rugby League.

“I’m keen to stay here in Super League, I just want to string some good performances together and play well for Wakefield.

“I’m more than happy to stay here in Super League.”

Arona has made 10 appearances for the Wildcats this season and is ranked seventh at the club in tackles, fifth in carries, seventh in metres made and fourth in offloads.

The Cook Islands international was a Penrith Panthers junior who spent time in the NRL with the Roostrs and Cronulla.

Arona said Chris Chester has had a positive impact at Wakefield since his appointment.

“I honestly feel there’s a new fresh buzz around the club,” he said.
