France international Anthony Marion will stay with Toulouse for an eighth season after being handed a Super League deal for 2022.

Marion, 27, has made 144 appearances for Toulouse since joining from Albi in 2014.

Club president, Bernard Sarrazain, said: “Anthony Marion has crossed all levels with the TO, from the French championship to the Super League.

“He is a competitor who is one of the essential elements of our squad and I am delighted to have him in our ranks.”

A hooker or half-back during his career, Marion featured predominantly at loose forward last season.

He made 13 appearances as Toulouse topped the Championship and earned promotion by beating Featherstone in the Grand Final.

Marion even took on goal-kicking duties at times, kicking 27 goals to go with six tries.

His performances earned him selection in the France squad for last month’s test match with England.

He said: “I am very happy to continue the adventure with the TO and to be able to discover the Super League in these colours.”

Toulouse have been busy handing out new deals to their squad since earning promotion.

Harrison Hansen, Lloyd White and Tony Gigot are among those who have signed extensions.

Their only new signings so far have been former London hooker James Cunningham and forward Gadwin Springer.

It’s not even a month since Toulouse earned promotion to the top flight.

Coach Sylvain Houles said after their Grand Final win: “I’m lost for words. It’s unbelievable.

“I love the boys, they have been outstanding all season. We had a project and I can’t credit them enough – the guys who played and the guys who didn’t play – they’ve supported everyone.

“We planned everything and it worked and when it works it is unbelievable.”
