Anderson wanted more points against Catalans

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson was pleased with his team’s weekend win over Catalans Dragons, but felt that it could have been bigger.

The Giants beat the Dragons 38-14 at the John Smith’s Stadium, but still felt a little disappointed with that scoreline.

“We scored 38 points but it’s a little bit disappointing because we should have had more,” the coach told his club’s official website.

“We had a lot of opportunities where we should have had a bit more composure and we could have seriously run away with the score.

“I thought offensively we had better shape, we just need to execute a little bit more, and defensively there were a couple of soft tries that I’m not happy with, but it’s a step in the right direction that we kept a team like Catalans to 14 points and get over the line for 38 ourselves which is obviously pleasing.

“I thought we looked a lot more like a team today in patches. I thought in the main we created plenty of opportunities, more than we have for a long time – the next challenge is to take those opportunities.”
