Anderson signs contract extension

Huddersfield Giants caretaker head coach Paul Anderson has signed a two-year deal, which will see him revert back to his assistant coach role in 2009. nnThe 36-year-old will become assistant to Nathan Brown when he arrives in the UK.nnManaging Director Richard Thewlis believes it to be a significant move for the club: “Paul has proven himself an outstanding assistant in his time with us and his work in the temporary position of Head Coach alongside Kieron Purtill is of the highest order.nn”His retention as Assistant Coach gives us a degree of continuity amongst the staff and he and Nathan speak almost daily to work on the plans for next year. nn”I have no doubts that one day he will go on to be a Head Coach in his own right but it is pleasing that he sees the Giants as the right place to continue his coaching career for the foreseeable future.”nnEx-Leeds, Bradford and Saints prop Anderson signalled his delight at staying with Huddersfied: “I’m really pleased to sign the contract extension and really excited about working with the new coach coming in.nn”I’m also looking forward to continuing to work with this group of players.
