Anderson out for the season

Catalan Dragons back rower Louis Anderson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing his achilles tendon over Magic Weekend.

Anderson, 27, suffered the injury in Catalan’s 46-18 win over London Broncos and MRI scans confirmed that he will need to undergo surgery. 

Catalan coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “Players, staff and everybody at the club will support him during that difficult time to help him to come back next season as strong as he was before this injury.

“We lose another key player in the team but he is not the first one this season and I know we will find the strength to overcome this new injury.”

Anderson joins Jason Baitieri, Brent Webb and Olivier Elima on the long-term injury list in Perpignan.
