Anderson lands five match ban

Former St Helens, Warrington and Salford back-rower Vinnie Anderson has been banned for five matches for punching in the Challenge Cup.

Anderson, 34, now plays for Carcassonne and was sent off during the third round defeat against Workington on April 7th.

Workington’s James Robinson was suspended for three matches after he pleaded guilty to punching in the same incident, with both players receiving fines of £50.

Carcassonne‘s Tyrone Pau was also handed a one match ban. He submitted an Early Guilty Plea to a charge of punching in the same match.

London Skolars player Michael Hill also submitted an Early Guilty Plea to a charge of tripping in their Northern Rail Cup match against Rochdale, landing himself a one-match ban.
