Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson was impressed by his new signings as the Giants started pre-season training last week.

Props Stuart Fielden, who joined the club from Wigan, and Wales international Craig Kopczak are among the new faces at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Anderson told the club’s official website: “You can tell the new boys have been in good environments.

“There is obviously some work to do in regards to how we fine tune them to what we want, but we have signed some quality players and athletes, you can tell they are raring to go.

“We’ve just finished our third day of testing. Wednesday was all gym based and we had the lads medically weighed and screened. On Friday they did some running and skin pictures were taken so they can check skin composition. The process is thorough and we’re doing the best for the individuals.”

Huddersfield’s international representatives have been given extended leave, while several players remain in rehab following injuries last season.
