Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson is keen for the young players in his squad to put down a marker or two in the forthcoming friendly with Halifax.

The Giants travel to The Shay next Sunday for the first of their preseason games, and Anderson wants to use a young squad in this initial match.

“This is the Giants’ first game in 2006 and I’m looking for the players to set the right example,” said Anderson, according to the Huddersfield Examiner.

“It’s the chance for them to shine.

“All of the coaching staff are looking for the young guys to go out there with the right attitude and produce a performance full of commitment and enthusiasm.

“If they do that, they know they won’t have let anyone down and will have set an example which we’d then expect the senior players to follow.”
