Amor relishing Catalan test

St Helens prop Kyle Amor is looking forward to tangling with Catalan Dragons‘ big pack this week.

The two teams clash on Thursday evening at Langtree Park, with the winners heading to the Grand Final at Old Trafford.

“We’re looking forward to it, it’s 80 minutes from a Grand Final,” said Amor.

“There’s a whole lot at stake for both sides, and it should be a cracking game.

“For a team that apparently doesn’t really travel away from home, they’ve proved a few people wrong.

“To turn Huddersfield and Leeds over at their places takes some doing.

“They’ve certainly got form behind them, and when you’ve got form behind you you’re dangerous.

“As well as that, they’ve got the big physical pack that they’ve played with all year.

“They’ll definitely be a threat and a danger. So we’ve been working hard over the last ten days and hopefully it’ll come into place on Thursday night.”

Amor is not allowing himself to get carried away with dreams of Old Trafford glory, however, and he insists that the Saints players are taking nothing for granted.

“We’re very much in the here-and-now as a group, we know what’s at stake,” he added.

“We know how hard we’ve worked all year, given the situations that have been thrown at us. It’s very much about us.

“They’re a great side, with strength across the pack. It’s certainly one that, as a front rower, you’re licking your lips at.

“I can’t wait to get going again on Tursday. It’d be amazing to reach Old Trafford.”
