Winger Reece Rance has joined Championship One side Gloucestershire for the 2014 season.

Rance, 20, has played both codes of rugby, but his first exposure to rugby league did not come until 2011, when he joined hometown club Northampton Demons.

He then joined Nottingham Trent University, representing them in the BUCS Premier South league and competing against the All Golds.

In a match between the University of Gloucestershire and Nottingham Trent he was spotted by club scouts after an outstanding performance. Coaches were immediately impressed and the following day contacted Rance to invite him down for pre-season training.

“I’m excited to have signed my first professional rugby league contract for the All Golds,” said Rance.

“I’ve been looking for the opportunity to take my rugby league to a higher level, and now I have the chance to showcase what I have to offer in the up and coming Championship One season, wearing the Golden Fern.”
