While studying in Scotland he represented the Scotland Students’ Rugby Union team from 2005-2008 receiving nine caps before switching to Rugby League in 2009.

Tim, born in Abbeyleix, Ireland, and now living in Bristol, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the University of Gloucestershire All Golds and to be part of an historic first season for the club.

“The facilities available to us are top of the range which will give us a big advantage in our preparation for the season and should really aid us in keeping players at the top of their game.”

“I’m also looking forward to playing for Brad Hepi who’s a great coach and is making huge strides with the All Golds. With the World Cup coming up at the end of the year, I’m excited to get going and make a real impact on the competition.”

The signing comes as the All Golds prepare for their opening Championship One fixture against Oxford at the Prince of Wales stadium in Cheltenham on Good Friday, March 29th.

Mark Aston, Head Coach of Ireland and Sheffield Eagles is fully aware of Bergin’s attributes “Tim has the will and desire to be the best that he can be and gives 100% in absolutely everything he does.”

“He will bring a lot of great qualities to the University of Gloucestershire All Golds.”
