Alex Walsmley has been given the all clear from specialists after suffering a fractured neck in March.
The England international has been in full training this pre-season ahead of the new campaign.
He needed a final scan to ensure he could return to play, but that test has been passed and he is ready to return to action at the start of the new season.
On his return, Walsmley said: “I can honestly say this has been the toughest journey I have ever been on.
“I’m so grateful to be able to put it to bed and carry on with my career.
“I really appreciate all the support of not only my team-mates and everyone at the club, but the fans too.
“Bring on 2019 and the new season – I can’t wait!”
