Leeds half-back and 2022 recruit Aidan Sezer says he has been impressed with the youngsters within the squad during pre-season.

Sezer, 30, signed with the Rhinos on a two-year deal from Huddersfield Giants for 2022.

He links up with former Canberra Raiders half-back partner Blake Austin in the squad, and featured in the club’s Boxing Day friendly with Wakefield.

The Turkey international says he has been impressed by the youngsters during pre-season, including stand-off Jack Sinfield.

“I think the application of their [young players] work is pretty good. That’s probably across the board for all the young boys.

“Jack Broadbent, Morgan Gannon, them sort of boys are working really hard.

Jack Sinfield as well. He’s always putting in the time and effort and in the extras. He’s trying to perfect his craft. It’s always good to see.

“It’s refreshing as one of the older boys to see the young boys apply themselves as much as these kids do. And hopefully they can kick on and become better players this year.”

The club return to their pre-season schedule this weekend with a trip to Featherstone. Leeds renewed their dual-registration partnership with the Championship club during the off-season.

“I’m looking forward to obviously playing for the boys again,” said Sezer.

“I got 60 minutes out on Boxing Day, so it’d be good to have a little run around again and obviously building combinations.

“Things are getting good and building them combinations. Like I said, it’s still pretty new and you know, just getting that nous for each other and getting to know each other’s games and what we like to do, so it’d be good to have another run out again and looking forward to getting out at Fev on Sunday.”
