Widnes Vikings have confirmed that Patrick Ah Van has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

Vikings coach Denis Betts is delighted that the winger has extended his stay at Widnes.

“This is fantastic for us. Pat has been an amazing acquisition for us since he came to us from Bradford,” he said.

“His try scoring ability is second to none. Getting him on the field more regularly and seeing what he can do has always been our main priority.

“Pat has now got the chance to keep doing the things he does so well for us and to score some more spectacular tries moving forward.”

Ah Van is also pleased to have extended his stay at a club he hopes to win something with soon.

“I am very excited to be a part of Widnes Vikings for another year,” he said.

“I have really enjoyed playing here with all the boys. We all get along on and off the field so it was an easy choice to sign to stay with the club.

“The coaching staff have helped me learn a lot and I still feel I have got a lot to learn so will be aiming to keep improving for the Vikings. As a team we have been improving every year so hopefully we can win a title with this bunch of boys.”
