Wigan coach Adrian Lam was impressed by his side’s “perfect” first half display against Leeds.

The Warriors ran-out 23-17 winners against the Rhinos at Emerald Headingley Stadium on Friday evening.

Wigan are now just two points away from the top five and Lam believes his side continue to show signs of improvement.

Speaking after the game, Lam said: “It was exciting and it was probably good to watch for a neutral but I was really proud of the players.

“I thought our first half was pretty perfect and Sean [O’Loughlin] probably played his best rugby of the year so far.

“There were a couple of silly errors in the second half, we started really poorly and put ourselves under pressure but I was really proud of their courage and the way they hung in there, they’ve been like that for a couple of weeks now so it was great to get the two points.

“We were a bit smarter right across the team and we managed the game a bit better through a large part of it. It’s always hard to come here, so it’s a great win for us.”
