GB to tour Australia
Great Britain will tour Australia after all in 2019 – in Masters Rugby League. After plans to bring back the Lions at the top level were stunted by the Australians refusal, the Great Britain Masters have confirmed they will be heading for their fourth tour Down Under in September. The 16 night tour will include joining their fellow Masters from Australia and New Zealand at the seven day international tournament on the Gold Coast. The tourists will then move down to Sydney to attend the NRL Grand Final and play a final Masters game. Masters chairman John Wroe said: “This will be the trip of a lifetime, and an opportunity to meet friends old and new as tourists will have free time to socialised with fellow masters and also see Australia!”

Rugby league in Bath
Bath Rugby League are to face Bath University Broncos Rugby League team in their first ever annual challenge fixture. The game will take place at Trowbridge RFC on Wednesday December 12 (7.30pm kick-off). A spokesperson said: “These events are a fantastic opportunity for the current squad to get together out of season, but just as important is an opportunity for new players to experience the club and the sport. While we want to improve and develop as a squad ahead of our 2019 league campaign, we also want to give anyone who wants to play the sport an opportunity to do so. We welcome anyone to come and try the sport and see what the club is all about at the joint training session and challenge fixture.” Bath play in the West of England Championship, while the Broncos play at the highest level possible in the university leagues in Premier South.
