Achurch will come back stronger, says McDermott

Leeds coach Brian McDermott says Mitch Achurch will come back stronger, after being dual-registered with Championship side Hunslet.

The close season signing from Penrith featured for the Hawks in their win over Doncaster at the weekend, and has made four substitute appearances for the Super League champions.

Achurch, 24, was born in London before moving to Australia as a teenager, making him eligible to go out on dual-registration.

McDermott told the club’s official website: “Mitch got some gametime under his belt at Hunslet last week and he is progressing well.

“We always said that there is a long term commitment from our part and Mitch’s to him coming over and he has only played 15 first grade games in his career so it will take time for him to fulfil his potential however we are supporting him all the way and I am sure he will come back stronger.”
