Ablett to face Disciplinary Committee

Leeds Rhinos second row Carl Ablett will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee today charged with making dangerous contact with an opponent in last Saturday’s Engage Super League Round 9 fixture at Hull KR.

Ablett has been charged with the Grade B offence of using his body forcefully to bend or apply unnecessary pressure to the head and/or neck and/or spinal of Hull KR second row Rhys Lovegrove in the 73rd minute.

Ablett was charged after the incident was viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel earlier today.

Harlequins RL half-back Luke Gale received a caution for a high tackle on Wakefield Wildcats full-back Matt Blaymire in the 72ndminute whilstWildcats’ Glenn Morrison was cautioned for contact with a Match Official in the same minute.

Bradford Bulls centre Paul Sykes received a caution for a dangerous throw on Jordan Turnerof Hull FC in the 26th. Hull FC second row Willie Manu was cautioned for dangerous contact on Brett Kearney in the 63rdminute of the samematch. Castleford Tigers second row Brett Ferres also received a caution for dangerous contact on Salford City Reds’ Adam Sidlow in the 41stminute of Sunday’s game.

The cautions will remain on the players’ disciplinary records for consideration in the event of future incidents.
