Leeds Rhinos and England forward Carl Ablett has been granted a year long testimonial by the RFL, in recognition of his 10 years of service to the sport.

The Leeds native, now 29 years old, made his debut for his hometown club in 2004, and played in his 14th major final for the Rhinos at this year’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley.

Events lined up so far include a corporate touch rugby tournament at Headingley, and the launch of a ‘naked’ calendar.

“I would like to thank the RFL and the Leeds Rhinos board for granting me this testimonial,” said Ablett

“As a Leeds lad it has been a dream come true to play for the Rhinos for my entire career so far.

“There have been some fantastic memories and the honour of playing alongside some brilliant players.

“I am sure the testimonial year and the events throughout it will give me a chance to reflect on those memories and meet a lot of people to say thank you for their help over the passed twelve years.”
