Ablett aware of threat from Tigers

Carl Ablett says he is fully aware of the threat Castleford will bring to the table when they meet Leeds in the Betfred Super League on Friday night (Leeds 13/10, draw 20/1, Castleford 8/13 – Match Betting).

The Tigers have already secured two wins over the Rhinos this season at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle and St James’ Park as part of the Magic Weekend.

Leeds (11/2 – Betfred Super League Grand Final outright) will be hoping it is third time lucky against the Super League leaders at Headingley, with Brian McDermott’s side in a rich vein of form after beating Leigh and Wakefield in their last two league outings.

Ablett knows the quality Castleford possess under head coach Daryl Powell and believes his side will have to be at their best to get a result in what should be a thrilling West Yorkshire derby.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “They are the best attacking team in the competition by a mile. They have found a way of playing and they execute really well.

“They have got a plan of what they need to do and where they need to get to and how to execute their plays.

“You can tell they work on that a lot and they execute really well.

“We’ve got to make sure we deal with what they throw at us and, on the flip side of that, we’ve got to attack well and take some juice out of them and make them defend and use up some energy.”
