Weekend Selections

Leigh Centurions (-24)
Featherstone Rovers (-10)
Warrington Wolves (-6)

Treble = 11/2

There appears to be a number of stand out selections this week, as well as my chosen three there were also notable shouts to include St Helens -20, Catalans -6 and Castleford -12.

I chose to avoid the games including Wakefield and Castleford just to gage how they will bounce back after last weeks epic Challenge Cup tie that was decided by golden point. I also expect Saints to score plenty points but they could also concede a couple of late tries to deny the handicap coupon.

Therefore, my chosen three starts with Friday nights mouth watering clash between Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves. The Wolves are in awesome form at the moment and are scoring tries and points like its going out of fashion. If you want to see fast flowing rugby league resulting in tries then Warrington Wolves are the team for you. The strength in depth of the Warrington squad is phenomenal. Just look at the players out on loan at other Super League clubs and in addition to the Super League loans, they have some outstanding youngsters on dual registration contracts with Leigh Centurions.

You don’t get victories in rugby league on what you have previously achieved its all about the here and now and coach Tony Smith will be keen to see his side put a real marker down here on Friday night and beat the Leeds Rhinos on their home ground. Boosted by the return of the prolific Richard Myler Warrington are pretty much at full strength whilst Leeds are still missing the likes of McGuire and Webb. Expect the Wolves to be to strong on the night for the Rhinos.

For my second and third picks this weekend I drop in to the Championship and choose the far away best two sides in that division in 2011. Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers could have some fierce battles between them in the upcoming months but this weekend appears to be somewhat of an easy weekend and I feel the handicap is a little light on both teams.

Both Leigh and Featherstone are scoring points for fun whilst York and Dewsbury who are their respective opponents this weekend are really struggling. Only 4 wins between them all season as well as a rather unimpressive 12 defeats and just under 600 points conceded indicates there is plenty of opportunities for Leigh and Featherstone to record impressive victories this weekend.

Add the Centurions and Featherstone to Warrington and you could well have the perfect treble this weekend!

Enjoy your rugby league wherever you are this weekend!
