Wigan pair join Toulouse on loan

Wigan pair Joe Bretherton and James Worthington have signed for Championship side Toulouse on a month’s loan deal.

Bretherton, 22, has made 17 appearances for the Wariors first team and has recently recovered from a dislocated leg injury suffered in the pre-season game against London Skolars.

Centre Worthington, 18, scored two tries on his only appearance for Wigan to date, the defeat at home to Wakefield in May 2017.

Executive Director, Kris Radlinski, said: “With the First Team squad looking so healthy at the moment both Joe and James were going to struggle for game time so when the opportunity came about with Toulouse it was an easy decision to make.

“Both players are champing at the bit to get out there and play and we wish them all the best.”

Toulouse are taking part in the Magic Weekend this weekend, when they face Toronto, before taking on London Broncos the following week at the Summer Bash in Blackpool.
