Leeds preparing for big battle

Leeds coach Brian McDermott is expecting an intense and aggresive encounter against Leigh tonight.

Both sides will be looking to record their first victories of the new Super League season after defeats last week.

The Centurions are at home for their first time since promotion back to the top flight.

“It will be a big thing for them,” McDermott said.

“We need to get ready to face an incredibly intense and aggresive team, which they’re noted for.

“Leigh are a very proud and historic team in rugby league. Their story was great last year with what can be achieved.

“Leigh didn’t look that far off [against Cas], and they will learn some massive lessons.

“Leigh are very good with the ball. Historically for the past four, five years they have been really good with the ball, clearly been a great offensive team.

Danny McGuire is fit to play against Leigh but Joel Moon is unavailable with concussion.
