York have announced the signing of Lewis Peachey from Castleford on an initial two-week loan deal.

Peachey, 20, made his Super League debut for the Tigers in 2019 against Catalans, and has made six appearances for the club.

Head coach James Ford said: “Lewis is an uncompromising player who carries intensity in his contact. I remember him from my time with England academy and I remember good kid who had some promise.

“I’m pleased to be in a position to have a closer look at him.”

Peachey added: “York are a really good club with great facilities and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“I’m hoping to get some more experience. I’ve played limited minutes at first team level for Castleford and I’m keen to get some more under my belt.”
