South Leeds Stadium

The Hawks moved to the South Leeds Stadium from Elland Road in 1995. The complex, also known as the John Charles Centre for Sport, is a purpose built athletics stadium – complete with running track, shot put net and long jump sandpit.
The ground features a modern, two-tiered stand with a capacity of just under 2,500. As you’d expect from a modern facility, amenities within the stand are excellent. There are two licensed bars, one of which overlooks the action and is popular with many home supporters.
Due to the running track surrounding the field, there is a fair distance between the players and the supporters. This does restrict the view somewhat, particularly when the ball is in play at the far side of the pitch.
Despite this, the home supporters do their best to generate a good atmosphere, with the singing section making their voices heard from the upper tier. ‘Harry the Hawk’ and the club cheerleaders also do their bit to enhance the match-day experience, before the match and at half-time.
The seats are comfortable with plenty of leg room and getting in and out of the stadium is a breeze. Add to this the free parking and cheap adult admission and a visit to the South Leeds Stadium is well worthwhile.
