- The club was founded as a rugby union club in 1875 before switching to the Rugby League code in 1897. - They relocated to their present home of Craven Park in 1931. - The ground was named after Commander Charles Craven who was the major driving force behind the fund-raising and development of the ground. - The club reached five Challenge Cup Finals between 1938 and 1967. Did You Know? James Peters, who was the first black player to represent England in any sport when he was capped by the rugby union, turned professional with Barrow in 1913.
