James started his career in 2003 with the Sheffield Eagles and has gone onto play for five different teams since then, including, Castleford, Wigan, and Widnes. Crusaders, South Wales and Salford, overall making 189 appearances scoring 53 tries. He has also represented Wales 12 times. He joined current side Salford in 2012 from Crusaders.
